• 7 ounces (200 grams) broccoli, washed and cut into bite sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) butter
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

For fresh broccoli, wash and trim the broccoli into bite-sized pieces.

Stove Top: Cook the broccoli covered with water in a saucepan over med/high heat. You can also put in a steamer basket, add water, making sure the water stays below the basket. Cook with the lid on until to preferred tenderness, about 3-5 minutes. Place in a bowl, and add butter, salt and pepper to taste while warm.

Microwave: Cook broccoli in the microwave in a microwave safe bowl with 1/4 cup (59 ml) water with a lid covering most but not all of the bowl. Cook about 3-5 minutes, depending on the voltage of your microwave. Add the butter, salt and pepper and stir well.

Pressure Cooker: Place broccoli in the pressure cooker, along with the required amount of water for your unit (mine is 1/2 cup (118 ml). Close and lock your lid. Cook on high for 2 minutes. Release the pressure safely from your pressure cooker. Safely open your lid. Enjoy!

If you use frozen broccoli for this dish- do not cook it and then refreeze as this is not safe. Just cook the frozen broccoli according to the recipe on your serve day. Enjoy!
