- 2 ounces (56.7 grams) of cheddar cheese, shredded
- ancho chili powder to taste (optional)
- garlic powder to taste (optional)
- onion powder to taste (optional)
Preheat the oven to 350F/ 180C/ Gas Mark 4. Shred the cheddar cheese. Cover a small baking sheet with parchment paper. Make ten small piles with the shredded cheese, giving them enough space apart so they can spread out when they melt and bake in the oven. Bake for approximately 10-15 minutes, keeping an eye on the chips so you can remove them when they get lightly brown. Let cool, and remove excess oil if preferred. Enjoy!
Alternative cooking method. These cheese chips can also be cooked in a conventional microwave on a piece of parchment paper cut/formed to fit. Form only the number of cheese piles that will fit in the microwave while still having enough room to spread out when they melt and bake. Cooking time will vary according to the voltage of your microwave, but should be approximately be one and half minutes. Let cool, and removed excess oil if preferred. Enjoy!!
