About This Recipe

This is my take on an authentic Mexican inspired taco mix. It has bases of cumin and chili powder like typical taco spice mixes, but adds more cinnamon and cloves in a nod to the popular spices within Mexican cooking. This taco spice mix is a fun new take on a classic. Add 1 tablespoon (15 ml) per 1 lb (450 g) of meat for a light flavor, 2 tablespoons (30 ml) for a medium bodied flavor, and 3 tablespoons (45 ml) for a bold new take on taco meat. Make several servings of the spice mix and store them in an airtight container so you'll always have spices for tacos- or even as a great dry marinade on steaks! Enjoy the delicious flavors!
